  • Designed completely to harness the winter sun and block the summer sun. (Passive Heating & Cooling techniques)
  • Double brick construction with air cell lining in the cavity. (Control of Long & Short wave radiation)
  • We cross ventilated the whole home with mechanical adjustable louvres.
  • External venetians we used to control the summer heat from penetrating the shopfront glass and to provide privacy.
  • We used 1.2 kilowatts of photovoltaic cells to illuminate the whole dwelling and to run the pool.(Reduced electricity bill by 40%).
  • The huge 13.6 x 2.4 metre sliding doors were fitted with low emission double glazing to prevent the internal heat gains (long wave radiation) being lost during winter.
  • The maximum star rating for a home in NSW is 5 stars. We achieved 7.0 stars.
  • The 35000 litre underground concrete rainwater tank is used to water the garden beds, a cold water line is fed to the washing machine and toilet cisterns.
