We recently designed a rear extension for a heritage-listed home in Concord.
Such projects require special attention due to the sensitivity associated with heritage-listed homes. After almost a year of negotiation with Canada Bay Council, we finally got the development application approved.
We are thrilled to announce that the builder we worked with on this project won an award in the Alterations & Additions category at the Master Builders Association of NSW Excellence in Housing Awards, which is a testament to the quality of their work and the collaborative effort that went into this project. The builder and I have worked together on several projects over the last five years, but this one was especially challenging due to the high attention to detail required for the heritage property.
The renovation project included a rear alfresco area, the addition of a garage to match the front heritage home, a lap pool, and family open plan living with a spacious kitchen and dining area. The entertainment unit in the family room was custom-built to suit the unique needs of the owners, and the luxurious bathrooms were designed to complement the heritage aesthetic of the home.
Throughout the project, we prioritized sustainability and environmental responsibility, incorporating sustainable design practices wherever possible. This project is a great example of our expertise in drafting and design, building design, and sustainable design, and we are proud to have been a part of it.
In summary, this project was a challenging but rewarding experience that truly showcases the power of teamwork and collaboration. With the right team behind your vision and a client who trusts your process, any project can hit its mark and exceed expectations.
