This striking custom home on the Nepean River in Penrith was designed to take full advantage of its breathtaking water and Blue Mountains views.  The design also carefully considers Western Sydney’s climate, providing comfort during hot summers and cold winters.

Thoughtful Planning and Site Analysis

Before beginning the design process, pre-lodgement meetings were held with the head of planning to assess environmental constraints, particularly the risk of flooding. Engineering flood reports were prepared in advance, ensuring the home’s floor levels and layout would avoid potential future floodwaters. Thanks to this careful planning and adherence to building codes, the home remained completely unaffected during recent significant Nepean River floods, demonstrating the effectiveness of the design strategy.

Using our expertise in Sustainable Design, the home was designed to maximise winter sun in living spaces while blocking excessive summer heat.
