Project Overview

Blaxland House is a strong example of a modern custom home that feels well suited to its suburban Blue Mountains setting.  The owners came to us with a clear vision: to create a contemporary family home with a strong connection between the internal living areas and outdoor entertaining spaces.  The design needed to feel open, practical and highly liveable, while also responding carefully to the site and local planning requirements.

Indoor-Outdoor Living

A key focus of the design was the relationship between the main living zones and the outdoor spaces.

The home was planned to create a smooth transition from the inside to a spacious rear block and outdoor entertaining area. This helped create a home that feels practical for everyday family life while also working beautifully for hosting friends and extended family.

Council Approval & Pre-Lodgement Consultation

One of the highlights of this project was the collaborative approach between the owners, our design team and Blue Mountains Council.  The owners took on the build themselves and did an incredible job bringing the plans to life. To help ensure the approval process ran smoothly, we arranged a pre-lodgement meeting directly on site with Blue Mountains Council.  That extra early legwork meant the Development Application was approved efficiently with almost no issues.
