Hidden Valley House | Mulgoa
Project Overview
Hidden Valley House began as a simple interior refresh, but once on site, it became clear the property had much greater potential. Rather than limiting the work to a basic renovation, we proposed a major design upgrade that extended the home upwards and outwards to better connect with the surrounding acreage setting. Within minutes of presenting the broader vision, the owner was on board and the project moved forward with a much more ambitious brief.
Acreage Design & Valley Views
Set across several acres, the design response was centred around the views. The home was reoriented to capture the spectacular outlook across the Mulgoa Valley, while the living spaces were redesigned to bring in northern light and improve natural cross-ventilation. This helped create a home that felt more open, more connected to the land and better suited to relaxed acreage living.
Council Approval & Project Outcome
Navigating the Penrith Council approval process for a renovation of this scale required several months of negotiation, but the final design outcome was achieved while maintaining the broader vision for the home. Hidden Valley House is a strong example of how thoughtful building design can transform an existing acreage home into a grand, light-filled retreat that no longer simply sits on the land, but actively connects with it through views, natural light, ventilation and a stronger sense of place.
