THE BRIEF
The owners wanted a custom home that would remain comfortable throughout Western Sydney's hot summers and cool winters while providing a modern architectural character and practical family living. The brief focused on energy efficiency, natural light and creating a home that would perform well across all seasons.
THE DESIGN RESPONSE
The design was carefully planned around passive solar design principles, with solar orientation, room placement and glazing strategically arranged to maximise winter sunlight while reducing summer heat gain. The main living areas were positioned to improve natural comfort, minimise reliance on mechanical heating and cooling, and support year-round energy efficiency while maintaining a clean contemporary architectural form.
PROJECT OUTCOME
Medinah House demonstrates how custom home design can successfully combine architectural quality, passive solar performance and everyday comfort. The completed residence provides a bright, energy-efficient and highly liveable family home that performs exceptionally well throughout the seasons, delivering long-term comfort and reduced energy consumption within the Twin Creeks Estate setting.
