National award-winning custom residence engineered with high-performance passive solar orientation for year-round thermal autonomy.

Medinah House | Twin Creeks Estate Luddenham

Winner – New Residential Building up to 350m²

Building Designers Association of Australia (BDAA) National Awards

Located in the Twin Creeks Estate, Luddenham, this award-winning home is a great example of how a bespoke residential design can balance high-end style with real-world sustainability. It picked up a national win for the best new residential building under 350m², but the real success of the project is how it performs throughout the seasons.

We carefully positioned the home to make the most of the northern sunlight. By focusing on the orientation, we ensured the main living areas stay naturally cooler in the peak of a Western Sydney summer and filled with warmth during the winter months. It’s a design that prioritizes energy efficiency without compromising on the modern aesthetic the clients were looking for.

One of the most rewarding parts of this project was hearing back from the owners, Ron and Narelle, after they’d lived in the home for a full cycle of seasons. They mentioned that they didn't fully realize the impact of the house's position until that first summer hit and the indoors stayed remarkably cool. Now, they get to enjoy that winter sun pouring in, only needing the heating at night. For us, that’s the ultimate goal, creating a place our clients truly love being in.
