Project Overview

Mt Riverview House is a luxury custom home in the Blue Mountains and one of our most recognised residential projects. The home received a national award for Luxury Housing over 450m², but the real achievement was balancing a high-end architectural outcome with the strict bushfire safety requirements of a BAL-40 site while still creating a home that felt refined, comfortable and deeply connected to its mountain setting.

BAL-40 Bushfire Design & Material Selection

Because the site is located within a Bushfire Attack Level 40 zone, every design decision needed to be carefully considered for resilience, safety and compliance. The building form, materials and colour palette were selected to meet strict bushfire requirements while also complementing the surrounding natural landscape. The result is a home that demonstrates how luxury residential design and bushfire-conscious construction can work together without compromising the architectural quality of the project.

Passive Solar Design & Mountain Comfort

Passive solar design principles were used throughout the home to support year-round comfort and energy efficiency in a mountain climate. The layout, orientation, glazing and internal planning were considered to help the home remain comfortable through changing seasonal conditions, while also making the most of natural light and views. This approach allowed the home to perform well while maintaining the elegance expected of a luxury custom residence.

Mt Riverview House is a strong example of how detailed building design can deliver a luxury home in a bushfire-prone area without losing sight of architecture, comfort or landscape connection.
