Mulgoa House

Flamezone Custom Home Design | Mulgoa

Beecroft Custom New Home Design by Disti

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Double award-winning Flame Zone home on a steep 25-acre Mulgoa site, responding to extreme bushfire risk and Aboriginal heritage constraints.

THE BRIEF

The owners wanted a bespoke acreage home that embraced the natural landscape while responding to strict planning controls, bushfire regulations and environmental constraints. The brief called for a contemporary custom home that felt connected to the site rather than imposed upon it.

DESIGN RESPONSE

The design process focused on achieving full compliance with Flame Zone bushfire requirements, environmental protection measures and Aboriginal heritage considerations while maintaining a strong architectural outcome. Building placement, form and material selection were carefully developed to respond to the site's constraints, protect local flora and fauna and minimise environmental impact. Extensive consultation with council and the Local Progress Committee helped ensure the home remained sensitive to both the landscape and the broader local context.

PROJECT OUTCOME

Mulgoa House demonstrates how thoughtful custom home design can successfully overcome some of the most challenging planning and environmental constraints in NSW. The completed residence delivers a strong architectural presence, environmental responsiveness and a genuine connection to its rural setting while meeting stringent bushfire and heritage requirements.
