Project Overview
Portrush House is a luxury custom home in Twin Creeks Estate and a strong example of how building design, interiors and outdoor living can work together as one complete lifestyle outcome. The project received recognition for both the building design and the interiors, with the client’s main priority from the beginning being to ensure the pool, garden outlook and internal floor plan felt seamless, practical and visually connected.
Pool Orientation & Passive Climate Control
The pool was carefully oriented to the north-east as a strategic response to the site and climate. This helped block harsh south-westerly winds while still capturing cooling summer breezes, improving comfort across the outdoor entertaining area. Large glazed sections in the main living spaces were used to frame views toward the pool and garden, while the house itself provides natural shade over the pool during the hottest part of summer, reducing the need for bulky shade sails or extra structures that could clutter the view.
High-Volume Living & Acoustic Privacy
Inside the home, the high-volume living spaces were positioned well away from the bedrooms to help maintain privacy and acoustic separation. This allowed the main entertaining areas to feel open, generous and highly liveable without compromising the quieter private areas of the home. The result is a residence that feels luxurious and spacious while still being carefully planned for everyday family comfort.
Project Outcome
Portrush House demonstrates how Western Sydney custom home design can be practical, refined and environmentally aware at the same time.
