Project Overview

This custom home extension in Castle Hill demonstrates how a thoughtful design can breathe new life into a classic 1980s property.  Working closely with the owners, we delivered a modern and practical upper-storey extension that provided the additional space they needed while carefully preserving the home’s original façade.

The result is a substantial residential upgrade that improves the home’s function without compromising its established street presence.

Rear Addition & Street Appeal

To support a smooth The Hills Shire Council approval process and maintain the home’s curb appeal, the upper-storey extension was positioned toward the rear of the property.  This made the addition more discreet from the street while allowing the internal layout of the home to be significantly improved.  By respecting the original front façade, the extension feels like a considered evolution of the existing home rather than an obvious or awkward addition.

Outdoor Living & Pool Pergola Design

The project also included a custom-designed pool pergola, created to complement the clean lines of the new upper level.  This helped create a cohesive relationship between the indoor living areas and the outdoor entertaining spaces.  The pergola added both function and architectural refinement, strengthening the overall connection between the renovated home, pool area and rear yard.
