Nepean House | Penrith

This striking custom home on the Nepean River in Penrith was designed to take full advantage of its breathtaking water and Blue Mountains views. Beyond the scenery, the design also carefully considers the Western Sydney climate, ensuring the home stays comfortable during those notoriously hot summers and cold winters.

Before we even put pen to paper, we held pre-lodgement meetings with the head of planning to assess the site's environmental constraints, specifically the risk of flooding. We prepared engineering flood reports in advance to make sure the floor levels and layout were positioned safely above potential floodwaters. This level of upfront planning really paid off; the home remained completely unaffected during recent significant Nepean River floods, proving that a smart design strategy is the best insurance.

Using our Sustainable Design expertise, we focused on maximizing winter sun in the living spaces while blocking out the harsh summer heat. It is truly an entertainer’s dream, featuring large, flowing living areas that create a sense of casual comfort.
