THE BRIEF
The brief was to develop a substantial contemporary family home to replace the existing dwelling and take advantage of the site's slope and outlook. The concept included expansive living and entertaining areas, multiple bedroom suites, guest accommodation, a theatre, study, four-car garage, internal lift, gym and wellness spaces, rooftop entertaining, pool and pool house.
THE DESIGN RESPONSE
The home was designed across several levels to follow the natural fall of the land rather than creating one large building platform. The main living areas open to generous balconies and outdoor spaces, while the lower levels connect directly with the pool and landscaped areas. Stonework anchors the building into the site, with timber finishes, dark cladding, extensive glazing and strong horizontal roof forms defining the contemporary exterior.
The stepped design also reduces the apparent scale of the residence when viewed across the sloping site.
PROJECT OUTCOME
Pamela Place was developed through concept design and 3D visualisation, establishing the overall building form, floor levels, layout, materials and relationship between the home and the site. The project provides a detailed example of our approach to contemporary custom home design on a sloping Hills District property.
