THE BRIEF
The owners wanted to renovate and extend their existing home rather than undertake a knockdown rebuild. The brief centred on improving the functionality of the existing layout and updating the main living areas while making considered alterations to both levels of the residence.
THE DESIGN RESPONSE
The design worked with the existing two-storey home, introducing extensions and alterations where required while retaining substantial parts of the original building. Changes across the house improved the relationship between the kitchen, dining and living spaces and updated other areas of the home to suit the owners' requirements.
PROJECT OUTCOME
The completed renovation provides a more functional and contemporary home while retaining the established residence. The finished kitchen is a strong example of the result, with a generous island bench, extensive work and storage space, increased natural light and a strong connection to the adjoining outdoor area.
